Welcome to Day five  of 31 DAYS A CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS SPOOKY, SCARY AND THRILLING

FROM MY COMIC BOOK COLLECTION:

CARNAGE.  He certainly lives up to his name ! Cletus Kasady was the cellmate of Eddie Brock and received a portion of the Alien symbiont, that venom still possesses. From the opening scene of of Amazing  Spider-Man 361 Carnage’s insanity is evident. The symbiont really reflects Kasady’s character: blood red with streaks of black and his viscous, teeth filled Cheshire Cat grin, Carnage begins this issue with a violent murder.

His manipulation of the alien suit is scary the red fibrous threads and hard construct claws reminiscent of wolverine. More terrifying is his reasoning for the murder: “’cause I can !’”

Peter tracks Carnage down to his childhood orphanage (one that Cletus destroyed in a fire) and finds him sitting nude in the remains of the orphanage talking to a stuffed bear named Binky!

What follows next is a 10  page battle between the two. Spidey is thrown by Carnage’s use of constructs and the battle is a t first one sided. Just when Spidey gets an upper hand innocent victims get in the way. Spidey of course loses ground trying to save them and Carnage escapes. He leave Spidey a gift though a large piece of graffiti that reads : Carnage Rules written in Kasady’s own blood! A great debut for Carnage one of Spidey’s disturbing Villains.
