2013 Pittsburgh Comic Con – September 27-29

Pittsburgh Comic Con

Next weekend, I get the opportunity to go cover the Pittsburgh Comic Con in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and I just want to let you folks know a little about what is going on this year. There is a huge list of guests, with star of the show, Jim Steranko, whose list of work includes some classic stories featuring Nick Fury, a two volume history of comics, and concept art on Raiders of the Lost Ark and other films.

As with any other comic convention, there are fans of all sorts of media. The guest list this year includes Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett in the “original” Star Wars trilogy, Joe Bruscha and the team from Zenescope, and the official Tardis from the Doctor Who TV Series. There are so many things to see that I am very excited to go and take pictures and, maybe, hear some cool rumors from the artists and writers about things coming down the pike for all of us comic fans.

Grimms Fairy Tales Volume Two coverFor all of you fans of Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales comic series, one of the main reasons to be looking forward to my updates after next weekend is that the team from Zenescope is going to be previewing the pilot for their new Grimm Fairy Tales ANIMATED SERIES! That’s right. If you love the art and stories of the comic series, just wait till you see what they have in store… I will update you just as soon as I can.

Lots of local talent and other folks will be at the con. I will be tweeting pics as much as I can and posting things to Facebook and the site, so be sure you are following me. I will be your eyes and ears at the convention.

Monroeville is also known for their mall. The Monroeville Mall was the setting for George A. Romero’s classic horror film, Dawn of the Dead in 1978. Because of that, there has to be some zombieness at this con. There will be a zombie walk on Sunday, September 29th, for anyone interested as well as a costume contest at the convention.
